Pregnancy and childbirth are natural processes and we are here to support you. We will use our expertise when needed and guide you in making decisions during your pregnancy. You have the freedom to choose where and how you want to give birth, whether at home or in one of the hospitals in Utrecht, with options such as water birth or a birthing stool. We also have extensive experience in hypnobirthing.

We have been a midwifery practice in Utrecht for almost 30 years. We are a close-knit team of 7 experienced midwives. We work together regularly to ensure the best possible care. Everyone is familiar with your file and you have the opportunity to get to know each member of the team.
Pregnancy at the centre
At Midwifery Practice Breedstraat in Utrecht, you can opt for Centering Pregnancy, an approach to antenatal care in which a group of pregnant women with similar due dates are examined. The checks take place in a group of pregnant women around the same due date. This not only provides an excellent opportunity to make contact with other expectant mothers, but also allows more time for the exchange of knowledge and experience. The extra time allows us to go into more depth on different topics. We are very excited about this approach!
Ultrasound scans in Utrecht
During pregnancy, several ultrasound scans can be performed if required. In the early stages, an early ultrasound is possible (around 8 weeks), followed by an ultrasound at 10-12 weeks to determine the due date. At around 13 and 20 weeks, you can have a scan to check for any physical abnormalities. Later in the pregnancy, we may carry out growth scans as needed. These ultrasound scans take place at our clinic or at our ultrasound centre, Focus. It’s always possible to arrange ultrasound scans at Focus if you wish.
