Update from Kraamvogel Maternity Care Agency

Please note: Have you received a cancellation notice from Kraamvogel maternity care?

We are deeply concerned to hear from expectant mothers who had registered with Kraamvogel, had an intake visit at home, and yet still received an email stating that they will not be receiving maternity care from Kraamvogel. We have not received any direct communication from Kraamvogel regarding this matter and, like you, are completely taken aback by this development.

We are working on this behind the scenes, along with many other midwives in the region. Unfortunately, for now, we cannot do or arrange anything other than asking you to sign up for the waiting list for postpartum care in the region. We also advise you (as stated in the email from Kraamvogel) to report this to your health insurance provider. As a practice, we are also exploring the possibility of filing a report.

Have you signed up for the waiting list? After the birth, we will call the organization managing the waiting list, and they will then begin searching for maternity care for you at that time. This means they will contact all maternity care organizations in Utrecht to see if there might be a maternity nurse available at that moment. You will often receive 3 to 4 hours of care per day. Sometimes someone comes the same day, but it’s also possible that someone won’t be found until a few days later. Unfortunately, it can also happen that a postpartum care provider still can’t be found.

See the QR code below to sign up for the maternity care waiting list. We also encourage you to read the article on our website about what you can do if you don’t have maternity care.
