From this autumn, newborn babies can be protected against the RS virus with a one-off vaccination (antibody shot) through the infant welfare centre. The RS virus is a common cold virus that can sometimes cause chest tightness or hospitalisation in young babies.
The vaccination:
– is given through the health centre;
– is safe and well-researched;
– is free of charge;
– protects your baby in the first vulnerable months after birth.
This protection is especially important in autumn and winter, when the RS virus is common.
If you have any questions about this vaccination or want more information, check the leaflet under the “read more” heading.
